Why do people think pasta is boring. Cause its anything but!
I mean, even for me, I use to shy away from eating pasta cause it was boring, repeated, and in every single restaurant or home the menu would simple go like: Pasta Alfredo, or pink sauce.
But if you think about it deeply, pasta is an art. It really is, and it takes so so so much love. Especially when its made fresh. I can't explain how fun it is roll out a fresh ball of pasta and start rolling it as thin as you can in your pasta machine, and then seeing those perfect spaghetti lines at the end. Priceless.
For our recipe today, its a really fun one, so easy to make, and very satisfying to eat (and look at).
We are using rigatoni here, it makes a great body as imaginary "cake" and the oozy rich meat mixture just oozes into it and ahhhhh. need I say more?
Invest in good quality minced meat cause we are going simple here :) Get it fresh!
Rigatoni Pasta Bake
500g packet rigatoni
500g minced Meat

3 garlic cloves
1 can crushed tomatoes
Olive Oil, for the pan
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
Cook pasta just until half done, drain andplace in a large bowl and coat in 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 cup of parmesan. set aside.
Make the sauce, cook the garlic in olive oil and chili flakes then add the meat, cook then add the tomato can and season and simmer for 20 minutes.
Oil a spring form pan, arrange the rigatoni, top with the meat sauce and bake for 15 minutes, remove then top with gouda cheese and bake for another 15 minutes. remove and allow to rest for 15 minutes then serve.
