As you all must know, I LOVE french toast. Like love love love love. I can have it all the time, make it all the time, and stuff it with everything and anything.
You guys really liked the chocolate drizzled french toast I posted so here is the recipe as requested.
French Toast batter
1 Big country Loaf Bread
1/3 cup cream
1/3 cup milk
2 farm eggs
2 teaspoon good quality vanilla extract (I actually used chocolate extract in this, I bought it from kuwait from a guy that makes his extracts at home, his instagram account is @molasses_kw)
1 teaspoon vanilla sugar (store your used vanilla beans in sugar and thats it!)
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
2 tablespoon coconut flakes
Malden Sea salt
150g varlhona milk chocolate
2/3 cups cream
1/3 cup light corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Make your chocolate sauce first, its simple. In a pan over medium heat, add all of the ingredients except the vanilla and salt until they melt and are well combined. Stir in the vanilla and salt at the end, remove the pan and allow the sauce to cool down before using.
Now in a blender (Yes a blender) I know it sounds weird but I swear it makes the smoothest french toast batter, forget eggy french toast, it blends it to perfection!
Blend all of the batter ingredients together and pour in a deep plate.
Get your wooden board and slice the loaf into two cubes, remove the crusts. then for each cube, slice it in half again. Smear chocolate spread in it, sprinkle with sea salt and close. Do that with both toast cubes.
Heat your skillet and when its warm add the butter and let it melt. Place your toast cube one at a time in the french toast batter on all sides and start cooking in the pan. Allow all the sides to cook and get a beautiful sear.
Remove the toast, slice it in half, and drizzle generously with the chocolate sauce, garnish with coconut flakes, and you are ready to eat woho!
